Great South Bay Society 20th Annual Bay Cleanup

8am Saturday, October 17th, 2026

Yacht Service Ltd, Ocean Ave, Amityville.

 

We will continue our efforts to clean the islands of the Great South Bay. The participants of this event have done a tremendous job over the years to clean up tens of thousands of pounds of debris from the islands. The refuse has decreased significantly over the years due to our and others’ success. However, we will continue to carry forth the effort.

Since 2021’s cleanup, all proceeds of the event will go towards a specific fund that was established at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. This fund was set up to help those receiving cancer treatment who need services that are not affordable or covered by insurance. Transportation and parking have been the greatest needs.

We thank you for your support in the annual Bay Cleanup and for supporting those who are affected by a terrible disease and are in need of help.

AT THE EVENT

We will be doing our traditional cleanup. The event will start at 8am.

We will also be auctioning many local business’s gift cards and items.

There will be a 50/50 auction that participants need to be present for.

You can sign up for the event below. No purchase is necessary, but we would love your support for our cause. The form is split up into different ways you can support us. You can purchase a shirt (which comes with 2 raffle tickets) and/or make a donation.

Shirts will be handed out at the event. Please let us know how many people are in the group that will be coming to the event so we can get a proper headcount.
